What is DEFLATE decompression?
Decompression reverses raw DEFLATE back to the original bytes. Because raw DEFLATE has no header or trailer, decompression is purely a matter of feeding the stream into an inflater.
How to use
Paste DEFLATE data as Base64 or Hex. Choose the input encoding. The original text appears in the output.
If your data starts with 1f 8b (GZIP) or 78 (zlib), use the corresponding tool instead. This one expects raw DEFLATE.
FAQ
Why does decompression fail?
The input is not valid raw DEFLATE. Check the encoding (Base64 vs Hex) and confirm the source used raw DEFLATE, not GZIP or zlib.
What about truncated data?
Truncated DEFLATE streams cannot be recovered. You need the complete stream.
Is my data sent anywhere?
