cSHAKE128 File
Compute the cSHAKE128 hash of any file. Streams the file in 32-byte output mode (same as SHAKE128).
Calculate the cSHAKE128 hash of a file. Free, offline, runs entirely in your browser. Read more Show less
What is cSHAKE128 file hashing?
cSHAKE128 is the customizable XOF from NIST SP 800-185. With default parameters (no function name, no personalization) it matches SHAKE128 at 256 bits of output, which is what this tool produces. For custom function names or personalization strings, use the text-based cSHAKE128 tool.
How to use
Drag a file into the box, click to select one, or paste from the clipboard. The tool streams the file in chunks and computes the hash as it reads. You can also enter a file URL; the server must allow cross-origin requests.
FAQ
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. The file never leaves your device.
How large a file can I hash?
Any size your browser can open. cSHAKE128 is streamed in chunks, so memory use stays flat.
Why does my hash differ from another tool?
Confirm the file is byte-identical and the other tool is reading it in binary mode. Text modes can alter line endings.
Command line equivalent
# Node with hash-wasm
node --input-type=module -e "import { cshake128 } from 'hash-wasm'; import fs from 'fs'; const b = fs.readFileSync('myfile.bin'); console.log(await cshake128(b, 256, '', ''));" The server must allow cross-origin requests (CORS). If it doesn't, download the file and use the File tab.
