Terms of service
The rules for using Tooleux. Short version: use it freely, output is yours, provided as-is.
These terms of service govern your use of Tooleux (the "site"). By using the site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
What the service is
Tooleux provides a collection of browser-based utilities for developers, security engineers, and general users. All processing happens in your browser. The site is provided free of charge and without registration.
Acceptable use
You may use the site for any lawful purpose, including commercial work. You may not:
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the site or its hosting.
- Use the site to process material that is illegal in your jurisdiction or that violates the rights of others.
- Misrepresent the site's output as coming from a different source, or claim authorship of the site's documentation.
- Scrape, mirror, or republish substantial portions of the site without permission.
No warranty
The site and every tool on it are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
While every effort is made to ensure that cryptographic tools produce standard-conforming output, you are responsible for verifying that any output meets your specific requirements before relying on it, particularly where the output is used in a security-critical, compliance-regulated, or financial context.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the author of this site shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:
- Your use of, or inability to use, the site or any tool on it.
- Any inaccuracy, error, or omission in the output of any tool.
- Any unauthorized access to or alteration of your data by a third party, notwithstanding the fact that the site does not collect or store your data.
Because the site is provided free of charge, the total aggregate liability of the author for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or the site shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to use the site (which is zero) or (b) ten US dollars (USD 10.00).
Intellectual property
The source code, documentation, page text, layout, and design of this site are the property of the author and are protected by copyright. You may not republish substantial portions without permission.
The output of the tools is yours. Hashes, encoded strings, encrypted blobs, compressed files, generated keys, and any other artifacts you produce using the site belong to you. There is no attribution requirement, no license restriction, and no claim by the author over your output.
The algorithms implemented by the tools are public standards and are not subject to copyright.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the author of the site from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the site in violation of these terms or applicable law.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date below. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos, Nigeria.
If you are a consumer residing in a jurisdiction whose consumer protection laws grant you rights that cannot be waived by contract, those rights remain unaffected.
Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or if modification is not possible, severed. The remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Entire agreement
These terms, together with the privacy policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the author regarding the site and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
